Scope of a review

A review addresses a particular publicly available homily and the words delivered in it. It does not attempt to judge a priest's interior intentions, personal holiness, vocation, canonical standing, pastoral effectiveness across his ministry, or fidelity based on a single ambiguous phrase.

Published evaluation standard

Homilies are considered using six recurring marks: Scripture Adherence, Relevance to Today, Clarity and Structure, Theological Soundness, Practical Application, and Delivery and Engagement. Scores and awards remain editorial judgments, even when they are supported by a defined rubric.

Theological observations

Theological comments should identify the exact words at issue and the Catholic teaching against which those words are being considered. The show favors precise language such as “needed greater clarity” or “may be understood in more than one way” over sensational labels. A substantial doctrinal concern may be reviewed with a qualified adviser before publication.

Opportunity for context

When a material assessment may turn on ambiguous wording, incomplete audio, editing, or missing context, the show may contact the priest or parish before publishing the concern. A response may be quoted, summarized, linked, or used to revise the assessment.

Corrections

Specific correction requests are welcome. Please include the episode or review, parish, approximate timestamp, disputed statement, and supporting source. If a factual error, misquotation, or unfair characterization is confirmed, the show will update the relevant page or episode description and identify the correction in a proportionate manner.

Comments and moderation

Good-faith disagreement is welcome. Personal attacks, defamatory accusations, harassment, anti-clerical abuse, spam, and repetitive disruption may be removed. The show is not obligated to continue an argument after providing a substantive response.
